PAT Testing in Sevenoaks & Southborough | Construction Site & Health Care
A Morning of PAT Testing in Sevenoaks and Southborough
Earlier this week we spent the day carrying out PAT Testing in Sevenoaks and Southborough, visiting two very different businesses but with the same goal – ensuring their electrical equipment is safe, compliant and ready for daily use.

PAT Testing on a Construction Site in Sevenoaks
Our first stop of the day was a construction site in the Sevenoaks area, where we carried out Portable Appliance Testing for the award-winning garden designers and landscapers Bowles & Wyer.
This was actually the third time we have visited this site, and it has been fantastic to see the project progressing each time we return. The design is really starting to take shape and the finished result is going to look amazing.
Construction sites present a unique environment for electrical equipment. Tools and extension leads are used daily, moved frequently around the site, and are exposed to dust, weather and general wear and tear. Because of this, PAT Testing on construction sites is recommended far more frequently than in offices or other low-risk environments. At this site we carry out testing every three months to ensure all equipment remains safe.
During our inspection we identified a few visual issues, mainly small faults such as minor cable damage or loose connections in plug tops. Thankfully these were easily repaired on site, and once corrected all of the equipment passed the electrical safety tests.
Everything is now fully tested, labelled and certified — ready to continue working safely until our next visit.
Supporting Local Businesses with Flexible PAT Testing
After finishing at the construction site, we made the short journey to Southborough for our second job of the day at a Baby Scan clinic.
As a small local business ourselves, we understand that many workplaces need testing carried out at times that fit around their schedule, especially businesses that rely on appointments and customer bookings throughout the day.
The clinic had a busy schedule of clients arriving from midday, so we arranged to arrive earlier in the morning before they opened. This allowed us to test all of the equipment throughout the clinic while still giving the team plenty of time to prepare for the day ahead.
Being flexible with scheduling is something we always try to offer where possible. Whether that means early morning visits, quiet periods during the day, or arranging testing around staff and customers, we aim to make the process as smooth and disruption-free as possible.
All equipment at the clinic passed testing with no issues, meaning everything is safe and compliant for both staff and patients.
Local PAT Testing Across Kent
Days like this are a great example of the variety of environments where Portable Appliance Testing is essential — from busy construction sites to healthcare clinics.
Regular testing helps identify small issues before they become bigger safety risks, while also ensuring businesses remain compliant with workplace electrical safety requirements.
